For some home owners the use of kitchen chair cushions is a way to accent their kitchen area. When you are reading to begin making your own kitchen chair cushions you should head to the local craft store. You will need to picking up padding of your choice and in the thickness that you want it. Picking out a material to cover the padding with will also need to be done. Most commonly when these are homemade cotton is use, but you can use polyester, suede or any material that fits you. If you don’t currently have kitchen seat cushions then you should measure your chair from front to back and side to side. This will give you the length and width measurements needed for your fabric. Add an inch to be safe, and if you plan to use thick padding you may want to add up to 3 inches.

After getting home and beginning you want to cut our 2 squares of your fabric to be the outer shell. You will need to sew two of the side together with your choice of thread, and maybe even three sides depending on the padding being used. Then take your padding and stuff you almost completed cushions. Sew up the remaining sides, add any addition design features you want and there you have it. If you have a sewing machine this process goes much quicker, and you can sometimes sew up the sides while the padding is already inside.
